1.Given the option, try to locate your new project in an area which is already part of an existing transport network.
2.Provide limited parking on site to promote interest in alternative means of transport.
3.Reserve parking for carpool vehicles on site, to encourage carpooling.
4.Provide refueling station/s on site for alternative fuel vehicles.
5.Offer incentives to building occupants who use alternative transport options.
6.Design pedestrian and bicycle friendly site.

Site Selection

1.Choose previously developed sites or brownfield for your new project.
2.Increase site density by maximizing FAR or square footage per acre.
3.Protect natural habitat.

Site Design & Management

1.Minimize building footprint.
2.Minimize hard scape.
3.Minimize water use.
4.Reduce heat island effect and enhance illumination by using materials with high SR value.
5.Develop a sustainable management plan to address- pest management, – cleaning of exterior building surfaces and exteriors, – use of chemicals.

Storm Water Management

1.Increase pervious area on site by use of – vegetated roofs, – porous pavements, and – grid pavers.
2.Control stormwater on site by use of – dry ponds, – rain gardens, and – bioswales.
3.Harvest rainwater to use in toilets or irrigation
