LEED rating systems encourage the projects to exceed minimum credit requirements. There are 2 strategies to achieve this:
1.Exceptional performance- for example, double the density requirements for Sustainable Sites credit, or significantly reduce indoor water use beyond 40% requirement.
2.Innovation- for example, formulate an educational outreach program, or use high levels of fly ash in concrete to minimize waste materials to land fills.
